FAQ
Who is Concepts and Copy?
Concepts and Copy is a one-man show, owned and operated by me, Michael Forge. I have been writing professionally for over 20 years. Before branching off on my own 10 years ago, I held full-time writing and creative director positions with The Washington Post, Epic Games (publisher of Fortnite), and FVM Advertising in Philadelphia.
What services do you offer?
I am, first and foremost, a writer. So, naturally, my primary offering is writing support. I provide video scriptwriting, e-mail marketing, social media content, website content, digital collateral, and a lot more. Frankly, it would be easier to list what I can’t write than what I can.
I’m pretty handy with all of the Adobe Creative Suite products, WordPress, and Mailchimp, too. So if you need some basic design, graphic, production, or CMS support, I’m glad to provide that as well.
Who do you work with?
I am fortunate enough to be selective when choosing whom I work with these days. As a general rule, I only work with individuals and organizations who do something good for the world. That might be as serious as trying to cure cancer or as lighthearted as making people laugh. But it has to be about something more worthwhile than merely making money.
How much do you charge?
It varies according to the client (the more noble the cause, the more flexible I am) and the nature of the work. But, as a baseline, my standard rate is $85/hr. I am happy to bill by the hour or work with you to establish a per-project or retainer fee up front.
What do the all the dog photos have to do with anything?
Nothing. But it’s my website and I love dogs. If you don’t like dogs, we’re probably not going to hit it off, so it’s a good screening tool, too.
Mike has never failed to get the key imperatives of any job we’ve given him and take our communications to a level we couldn’t have achieved without him.
